WHO IS LOUIS VUITTON?
Louis Vuitton’s first artist, Louis Vuitton was born in 1929 in Paris, France, and studied painting at the Ecole de l’Oiseau.
His career began with his first solo show in 1940, and he was the first artist to receive the National Medal of Arts in 1961.
He later went on to win the Prix d’Or for the painting of the New York Public Library in 1972, and won a Peabody Award in 1973 for his cover of the National Anthem.2.
WHAT IS THE MAN WITH THE PAPERBRUSH?
The Man With the Paintbrush is a portrait of Louis Vuitch, a young painter, that was commissioned by GQ to represent Louis Vuiter in their March issue of 1960.
The portrait is a depiction of a young man with a beard and long black hair, who is sitting in front of a mirror in a Parisian café, surrounded by his friends and a group of people in suits.
In the center of the portrait are two women.
At the same time, a large portrait of a man, dressed in a blue jacket and black pants, sits in the background.3.
WHAT TYPE OF ART IS THIS?
Louis Vuitton has produced a large variety of paintings over the years, including portraits of celebrities and the famous, and many of his paintings have been on the cover of major fashion magazines.
The Man with the Paintbrushes is the first of his full-length works to be on the magazine’s March cover, and will be on display at the museum for six months until September 3, 2020.4.
